DAT says spot fell in August; Cass says its all-market linehaul index edged up
DAT reports August dry van spot linehaul fell 20 cents from July and sits below contract. Cass reports its all-market truckload linehaul index rose 0.7% from July. Both show rates well above a year ago.

US on-highway diesel average sets a record in EIA weekly series
The US Energy Information Administration put average on-highway diesel at US$6.285 a gallon on September 14, the highest reading in its weekly series, which starts in 1994.
